13) My personal collection has collected me as well as the other way around. Some are gifted, some handed down, others donated —but all are spirit led. This entire place was designed as a sanctuary for my spirit friends and contains collected items from many New Orleans people and places gone, but not forgotten. We have done a lot of protection work for them and you, so you are safe here and when you leave.

14) Ouija Boards are just a spiritual connection tool, not anything to fear. There are a few scattered about and a tipping table corner too! Part of our collection here are also cursed objects including 2 ouija boards -  “rehabilitated” and cleansed, purged and protected.

15) Voodoo Center Corner - Voodoo is a traditional, shamanistic religion with roots in Africa. It is a musical and danced religion that was taken with the slave trade, all over the world and directly here to New Orleans. This eclectic area honors all of them & many of the original tribes with specific artifacts and acknowledges the hoodoo conjure folk magic.

16) Marie Laveau and Voodoo Collection - Objects on the top shelves belonged to Voodoo Queen Marie Laveau, who used them for rituals and healing in the 1800s. The bottom shelf contains items from a New Orleans Voodoo Doctor’s Kit (hoodoo).

17) The Axeman - about 100 years ago an infamous serial killer was on the loose. It was rumored the killer would spare homes playing Jazz music so New Orleans made a song about it!

21) Enter the upstairs apartment. Suspend your disbelief for your visit and try to connect. We have about 13 different ghosts and spirits (and a ghost cat. play with the toyrs, have a teaparty m use the facilites...

22) Haunted Doll Nursery - You are not alone. This room filled with toys is dedicated to the friendly and active child spirits. They like to play in the crawl space and they might touch, poke or pull you. These dolls often move around for many of them are haunted.

23) Kitchen of the apartment - offerings here are gifts to the spirits of the building.

24) Around the corner past the kitchen you will find the Upstairs Bathroom. It’s a usable restroom but it is definitely haunted! *make sure you read the full description of number 25 and 28 downstairs for details about this Haunted Apartment .  7 reg spirits are here and a few visitors

25) Back downstairs (in Who’s Who Hallway) there is a Hurricane Katrina Memorial to Man and Beast. We honor many spirits here. We nearly lost an entire culture.  Tens of thousands of animals and 1577 New Orleans residents perished in Katrina. Despite this great loss, yet, we still have less ghosts than before Katrina. We were a ghost town of a different variety for at least three years after that storm.  Many of our resident spirits evacuated with their families, with their bloodlines —with these protectors gone it now left the town in jeopardy. Katrina was more than just a hurricane it unleashed something primordial, dark and hungry.

Note the portrait of the young couple holding the kittens. They are two of the newest known spirits in this building. Sometimes considered those last two Katrina victims. This is Zack and Addie. Their sensational murder-suicide caught the country by storm in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. A crime was committed here in the Haunted Museum. Their spirits are here and they are part of our 13+ ghosts.

Zack and Addie lived together upstairs for only a few days. He strangled her during a fight. Zachary admitted in his suicide note “that,  murder part was quick; nothing after that was quick.” Over the next week and a half he dismembered her body in the bathtub and began to slowly cook the evidence away, though he didn’t eat her. Zack ended his own life 12 days later by jumping off the roof of a nearby hotel with a suicide note and confession in his pocket. Both Zack & Addie are still here in spirit form today. The same appliances from 2006 are still here today and the apartment was rented for 10 years after the tragedy where they were in use. We have them as memorials.

This true crime story is just part of the wide history of our 200 year old haunted building as true crime is part of a history of many hauntings. Remember we are a sanctuary focused on communicating and helping all spirits. Stay curious and respectful!  Happy haunting!
